The location of Alderstone House Business Park is ideal. Situated between the town centre complex and the principal commercial area (see aerial photograph), Alderstone House has a number of major companies and corporations as immediate neighbours. The following, being a few companies which are located in close proximity.
Entered by the original driveway, through mature woodland, past Alderstone House and the doo'cote (a 17th century dovecot), the pavilions benefit from a more tranquil setting than the vast majority of businesses within the area. Only a handful of mature trees were removed to allow development and by the end of 2000 around thirty to forty new specimens will be planted to ensure that area retains the tranquility that Alderstone House has enjoyed since it's construction in 1626. In keeping with history the three pavilions have been named after past custodians of Alderstone House. In the recent past the house has had links with William Whitelaw former British Home Secretary, having been originally built by Advocate Patrick Kinloch in 1626 and for some considerable time in the 19th century occupied by the Bruce family.
